'Multi-Sports Court: Dedicated to Derrick Otim' - GRAND OPENING!

Although our new sports pitch has been finished for a short time already, we have been waiting for some proper football nets and basketball hoops to be installed. Now this has been done, our Sports Leaders from Year 6 officially opened and re-named our new sports pitch this week. This area is called a range of names across school - the mugga, the basketball court, the top pitch, the netball court...and we wanted one, grand name for it to show everyone how important sports and PE are to us at Walter Halls. The Sports Leaders did us proud, coming up with the name: 'Multi-Sports Court'. They have made a video to tell everyone in school what they expect to hear us all calling it from now on!
Some of you may be aware of the Nottingham Forest Academy player, Derrick Otim, who sadly lost his life last year. Derrick was a former pupil of Walter Halls and a shining example of aspiration,
commitment and success for all of our children. We have decided to dedicate this new sports pitch to him and we will be installing some signage at the front of the pitch as soon as possible. This is another wonderful all-weather area for all of our children to benefit from, as we continue to make improvements to our beautiful school site.
