Following discussions in the Autumn term, the lunch time routine has been changed, to ensure that children have longer to eat their lunch and still have time to play outside and get fresh air. Each year group gets 1 hour lunch break between11.30am until 1.30pm. So far the trial seems to be going well!
The School council have been working on a number of projects over the Christmas period, including supporting Christmas Jumper Day which raised £178.29 for Save the Children and Helping with the Christmas Fair. They especially enjoyed the responsibility of judging the Great Walter Halls Bake Off!
The school council have been looking at how children feel about lunch times and what they think we could do to improve the activities available and other processes that are in place at this time. A survey is currently with the councillors to get feedback from their class mates.
Our school councillors have been chosen and recently had their first meeting. They discussed what areas/projects they would like to address over the year and the first point to work on is a questionnaire to take to their classmates around behaviour, lunchtimes, what equipment they would like at lunch and which sports they would like to learn.
