Class Dojo

At Walter Halls, we use a website called Class Dojo as a way of setting work for home and communicating with our families. Class Dojo is a free website that teachers, parents/carers and children can use to celebrate the learning and behaviours of all pupils as well as set, receive and provide feedback on any learning completed at home.

Communication and Celebrating positive behaviours
First and foremost, Class Dojo is being introduced as a positive tool for communication. Teachers are able to award all pupils points for positive behaviours during the school day which you can then view at home. Our points system will be linked to the six core values we have here at Walter Halls:

 Respect
Kindness & Empathy
Aspiration
Curiosity
Collaboration
Perseverance

Parents can also use Class Dojo to message their child’s teacher with any queries linked to their child’s learning.
Learning at home
As well as rewarding positive behaviours, we also use Class Dojo to set learning for all children (F1 – Y6). All learning will be published on Class Dojo. Teachers will continue to upload learning each day but it offers children a much easier way to complete and return their own work.

Setting it up for your child/children
Class Dojo is a free website and app to use. A ‘how-to’ guide for setting it up can be found at the bottom of this page. You will also be provided with your child’s login details, if you do not have this information, please contact the school office. Please note, Class Dojo is FREE to use. There are options to upgrade your membership – you do not need to do this in order to access it for your child.

How your child will use Class Dojo
All children from F1 to Y6 will be having their learning set daily on Class Dojo if they are not attending school from the week beginning 18.1.2021. When a piece of work is set, there will be one of 5 ways to respond (the teacher will choose the most appropriate way) including: written answers, a photograph, a video, a picture completed on a device or writing onto a pre-made worksheet. In order for a child to access their learning, parents / carers first need to register.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any problems or message your child’s teacher to let them know you’ve managed to log on.
